Redwing Teenager
Looks similar to a female except that the red patch shows this is a boy who will moult into a black male adult soon.

Lion Looks
One more Lion gives me the once over down at Fanny Bay dock. I'm lucky. This does not happen all that often. Two close encounters in one day.
Lion gives me a Personal Look
Big Boy gives me a curious look. This was at the dock in Fanny Bay. Normally there are 50 - 60 lions on the floats. This March 2nd when Herring Spawn begins the lions come in from heavens knows where and there were EIGHT booms or floats of 30 lions each all around the Fanny Bay dock. A lion float is when they relax on their backs with flippers in the air as a group. Reminds one of a log boom.
Herring Cash Boat
The cash boat takes the catch off the fishing boat, allows the skipper to get more herring and saves him a trip away from the herring action. Big money!
Black Turnstone
This one is looking for more Herring row eggs. He was in a group of 15 to 20. They were enjoying the easy egg hunt.
Black Turnstone
Blackstones were very nervous, flitting about and pecking for herring row. Normally they are more relaxed. March 2nd is early for the herring spawn.
