Crow Eyes Eagle
Mr. Crow, who has added brown to his summer fashion style, is looking up at the eagle high up behind me. Normally the spunky crow could care less about the eagle. In this case the eagle is making noises the suggest he will leave in a dive soon, so this is when the crow does pay attention. The eagle did depart in a dive. The crow and dove both moved off about 25 feet and then promptly returned for more birdseed.

Baldy Feathers
Bit on the light side so you can see the feathers pattern. Otherwise the underside looks mostly black.
Finally,....SWALLOWS
Finally,....They fly like jets and never seem to perch for a decent image. I heard little ones chirping under the ramp at Portugese Joe's cement dock. I went down under on the wooden floats and laid low. After flying by dozens of times they finally paused on a mossy dock post in the water. Light was VERY low, yet I am proud of this image.

Merrybells...similar to, but..
Merrybells,...suggested by a gardener friend, yet I doubt it. They are usually yellow and these are purple. .. Taken in Lewis Park, Courtenay next to the river. TG

FUCHSIA in BOWSER
Looked up Fuchsia in images and these seem longer and more slender than most. Taken in Bowser Vancouver Island. Living in the company of Giant Cedar Trees may have caused the slim trend.

SPOTTED SANDPIPER
Here we can see the spotted breast and the dark tipped orange beak. The one uploaded before the river otter group was difficult to ID. Let me know if it happens to be something else.
