River Otter..Caution
The pit-bull of otters. Very powerful and can get to six feet in size. Fearless, as they belong to the weasel family and that includes the powerful Wolverine. River Otter have attacked people and dogs so always caution around our Canadian River Otter. There are 13 types of otter and all are declining in number...Except for the River Otter. You can imagine the strength in the hands and feet of this 60 pounder. Never tease a River Otter. Respect for safety!!

New Hybrid Leader Arrival
Just two days ago this bossy Leader flew in with a following of 15 Canada Geese. Notice no black area in front of the eye on this side.
New Hybrid Arrival
This new Leader with a 15 Canada Goose following showed up two days ago. His dark markings are different side to side. The dark area in front of his eye is only on one side, for instance. Very sure of himself and clearly a leader of Canada Geese.
Hybrid Compared
Last year's hybrid Canada Goose and white goose has grown to a larger size than the normal Canada goose.

Merlin...All that Yellow
Went back again this afternoon....Something I seldom do in this heat and got four lucky shots.
Still distant. Still not the best, yet at least decent enough for a better ident.

How can a small yellow bird be so smart?? He kept braches and leaves between us the whole time. Will try to catch him in the open next time and soon I hope.
