They  never  chase  Oysters  and  Oysters  never  run,  yet  they  do  syphon  clams  out  of  the  shell  with  that  bright  sipping  straw  beak.

 The  North. American.  Bird Guide  calls  this  one  simply  ' RedHead '.

These  diving  ducks  spend  time  in  marshes  and  in  tidal  bays.   This  little  guy  was  all  alone.   Lucky  I  spotted  him  as  these  days  we  only  have  Gulls,  Canada  geese  and  crows.   North  to Alaska  and  south  to  Mexico.  Eastern  America  numbers  are  down  but  still  numerous  in  the  West.

Calm in aGale

Margansers  are  tough  and  streamlined.  facing  into  gale  winds  is  oh-hum  to  Mrs.  Merganser.

KillDeer Trot

Killdeer  chase  each  other  around  the  mud  flats  while  sandpiper  and  other  peeps  just  mind  their  own  business.  Unlike  Killdeer,  most  peeps  are  easy  to  miss  until  they  move  about.

Notice  the  nostril  is  formed  in  the  upper  beak.  Interesting  detail.

Blackbird Youth

This young blackbird  has  some  unusual  colour  tints  on  the  head  and  neck  areas.

Flip Head First

King  here  has  a  real  big  ego.  Usually  he  just  flies  off.   This  time  he  had  to  flip  his  cath  around  many  different  ways  and  was  in  no  hurry  to  leave.  Seems  like  PRIDE  to  me.

Around  here  these  warblers  mostly  remain  in  deep  cover.  Thus  the  long  shot.
