Notice that the brown and yellow North West Garter is shedding and emerging with a blue head... I surmise the blue color will darken to brown yet not sure if sunlight or ultra-violet light causes the colour shift. That,s a young downy woodpecker, left.
Blog layout is messing up here. The young downy is overlaying the black and yellow snake emerging from a molt with a blue head. Odd upon odd.
